The heat is on! Learn how to protect your skin from the summer sun
The summers are finally here. Icecreams, Cold Drinks, Refreshing cold coffees, and Sunburn! Harsh Sun is the inevitable part of the good old summer days. With many of us looking forward to taking vacations, trips, and splendid weekends in the summer, the sun is large upon us, unknowingly causing much damage to our skin. Hence, we must take some effort to protect our skin from the summer sun. Given below are certain ways how you can protect your skin:
Sunscreen every day! The most basic and simple remedy to get your skin summer ready is to apply a good amount of sunscreen or sunblock every day. It is better to use one with SPF 10 or more (contact your dermatologist!) before going out and keep reapplying if you are sweating or swimming or both.
Try to stay in the shade as much as possible. It is better to stay indoors, if you can, during the hottest part of the day which is between 10 am to 4 pm. Using an umbrella or a big sun hat can also do the trick in protecting your skin from the summer sun.
Apply a thin layer of aloe vera gel directly onto your skin, especially on areas that are more prone to sunburn, like your face, arms, and shoulders. You can also mix aloe vera with a few drops of essential oils like lavender or chamomile to soothe and calm the skin.
Eating foods high in vitamin C can help strengthen your skin's natural defenses against sun damage. You can also use a vitamin C serum or moisturizer that contains vitamin C to protect and brighten your skin.
Better act soon and watch out, because the heat is on!
