Sunburn is a pretty common problem during the summer. The harsh sun can cause damage, rashes, redness, pain, and skin peeling along with sunburn. The best way to prevent sunburn is through natural remedies. Natural remedies are lighter and camping for the skin, helping heal the damaged skin naturally with no side effects. Here are some most common natural remedies to treat sunburns.

 

Aloe Vera: Most of you might have already figured out that aloe vera must be on this list. This is because of the amazing benefits that aloe vera provides. Its cooling and moisturizing properties help soothe the skin and speed up healing. Just take an aloe vera leaf, open it up, and apply that amazing calming get on your skin. Let it sit for a while until you feel the pain coming down. You can later wash it up with cool water.


Multani Mitti (Fuller’s Earth): Another amazing natural ingredient is Fuller’s Earth. Due to its clay-like texture, it is extremely light on the skin. Coiled with its healing and naturally cooling properties it is very effective in treating sunburns. You can mix Multani Mitti with aloe vera gel and rose water. Apply this paste and let it sit for 20-30 minutes. Once dried up wash it off gently with normal water.

 

Coconut Oil: Are you aware that coconut oil is a natural sunscreen? Also, it is very effective in treating sunburns. Just take a bit of the oil and gently apply it to the affected skin. It is rich in antioxidants and can help protect the skin from further damage.

 

Cucumber: Cucumber has naturally cooling properties due to its high water content. It also helps the skin and body remain hydrated and reduces redness and inflammation. Cut a cucumber into thin slices and place it over the affected area. Alternatively, you can just grate a cucumber, mix it up with some aloe vera gel and apply it on the skin for half an hour or more.


Honey: Probably the best gift of nature, honey has countless beneficial properties. Its antibacterial and anti-inflammatory properties help soothe and heal sunburned skin. Just take a little bit of honey and apply a thin layer over the affected area. Let it sit for an hour or more and rinse off with cool water.
